[ES] En las últimas décadas han surgido diversos enfoques para dar respuesta a los desafíos que plantea la gestión del agua. Este artículo presenta, de manera introductoria, las principales aproximaciones teóricas desde las cuales se está analizando en la actualidad el uso y la gobernanza del agua: las corrientes neoinstitucionalistas, la teoría de los recursos comunes y la perspectiva del empoderamiento que se relaciona con la ecología política. La descripción de estos enfoques sirve para contextualizar las distintas aportaciones que se presentan en este monográfico sobre el estudio de los territorios hidrosociales, cuyos principales resultados se exponen sucintamente.
Are There Knots in Chromosomes?

Recent developments have for the first time allowed the determination of three-dimensional structures of individual chromosomes and genomes in nuclei of single haploid mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells based on Hi⁻C chromosome conformation contact data. Although these first structures have a relatively low resolution, they provide the first experimental data that can be used to study chromosome and intact genome folding. Here we further analyze these structures and provide the first evidence that G1 phase chromosomes are knotted, consistent with the fact that plots of contact probability vs sequence separation show a power law dependence that is intermediate between that of a fractal globule …

La gouvernance territoriale de l'environnement peut être le fait d'actions publiques exogènes aux territoires locaux, mais aussi d'initiatives locales de concertation qui se développent dans des espaces publics. L'analyse d'un échantillon de près de trois cents initiatives locales de ce type, sur l'ensemble du territoire national, nous a permis de déchiffrer leur diversité, d'étudier la façon dont elles complètent, corrigent ou inspirent les politiques publiques et d'identifier leurs impacts. One of the main characteristics of rural areas is a higher quality of life. However, the basic aspects of the social structure, e.g. the basic education and health-care services, are barely responsible for the wellbeing of the society, although the necessity of improving their offer is continually emphasised.
